360° Photography
360° photography involves capturing images in a way that covers a full 360° field of view around a central location. This immersive technique (also called “panoramic photography” or “spherical imagery”) is used to document, visualise and record rooms / areas / spaces for design, engineering and marketing purposes.
Once processed these images can be navigated through a flexible and simple end user interaction via a browser.
At Formby Surveys we have integrated the capability of 360° photography to our continually growing range of survey services, particularly those related to 3D laser scanning & construction verification.
Multiple 360° photographs can be “stitched” together to form virtual panoramic tours enabling the end user, via a web browser, to navigate through a building on a room by room basis without visiting the property or site.
Unlike a “still” photograph or video, a 360° panorama of a room / area will show any given location in its entirety and will accurately reflect the layout and design of each space. Use cases for this technology are varied and include :-
